Early Christmas Present for Glossop Girls as Local Care Provider Backs Young Footballers

Glossop, 18 December 2025 – Young footballers at Glossop North End Community Football Club have received an early Christmas boost after local care and education provider Arnfield Care Limited signed a four-figure sponsorship deal to support the club’s Girls’ Under 12s team.

The sponsorship will cover match kits and training gear for at least the next two years, ensuring the team can compete in the Cheshire Girls’ Football League in brand-new blue and white Nike kits featuring the Arnfield Care logo.

The investment provides vital funding for the club and a welcome morale boost for the players, while also helping to raise awareness of Arnfield Care’s work supporting children and young people across the High Peak. The sponsorship also includes pitchside advertising at the club’s home ground.

Arnfield Care, a Glossop-based organisation with almost 30 years’ experience, provides specialist residential care, education and outdoor learning for young people, focusing on safe, inclusive and nurturing environments that promote independence and wellbeing.

On behalf of the directors of Arnfield Care Ltd, Paul Knowles, Elaine French and Wayne Relf, Elaine, who is also the head of care, says:

I first came across Glossop North End Community Club through a family connection and it just so happened that, as a board, we were looking for some kind of community initiative to invest in.

There’s been huge growth in the girl’s game thanks to our fabulous Lionesses and watching the under 12s; seeing what a dedicated and talented group of young players they are, it became clear that there are very strong synergies between our two organisations.

The girls play with such passion, teamwork, and commitment, values we share as a care organisation. They love what they do, as does our team. And I can tell you from experience, nobody should underestimate the boost to self-confidence that looking the part gives any young person.

The sponsorship, which could form part of a longer-term relationship, sees Arnfield Care join a growing list of organisations supporting the club, including High Peak Borough Council, PHP Insurance, McDonald’s, Tesco and The Football Foundation.
