National Lottery Heritage Fund grant secures next chapter and new jobs for Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust.

Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust is celebrating after securing a £248,700 grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, ensuring the Trust can continue to protect, share and celebrate the town’s rich spa heritage while creating new opportunities for local people.

The two-year delivery programme, made possible by National Lottery players, will strengthen the Trust’s long-term sustainability and expand its role as a cultural hub at the heart of Buxton’s visitor economy. Funding will support:

• Educational outreach and school workshops

• Community events and group travel initiatives

• Volunteering and lifelong learning opportunities

• Expanded events programme for all ages

• Enhanced Pump Room café and retail facilities

• Vital maintenance work on the Grade I listed Crescent and historic Pump Room

Last year alone, more than 131,000 people visited the Pump Room and over 5,000 explored the interactive Crescent Experience, underlining the buildings’ importance to both residents and visitors.

Strengthening Buxton’s regeneration

The grant comes as Buxton embarks on major town centre regeneration, helping to ensure the Crescent remains a thriving cultural and community hub.

part in helping us keep the Crescent accessible, support our education and events
programmes, and strengthen our role in Buxton’s cultural and visitor economy. Every
