Written by on 06/04/2026

A major new comedy hub is set to launch at this year’s Buxton Fringe, as Den Of Laughs takes over the Lee Wood Hotel for two packed weekends of live performances.

Running on 11–12 July and 18–19 July, Comedy at Lee Wood Hotel will feature an impressive 46 shows across two rooms, making it one of the largest comedy programmes at this year’s Fringe.

With performances scheduled throughout the day in two fully accessible 40-seat spaces, audiences can enjoy a flexible, drop-in experience — perfect for discovering new acts or catching multiple shows in one visit.

A diverse comedy line-up

The programme promises a wide mix of comedy styles, including stand-up, improv, musical comedy, clowning, comic poetry and panel shows covering topics such as politics, music and dating.

It will also showcase both established performers and emerging talent, including comedians making their Fringe debut.

Highlights include:

  • Dawn Bailey, described as “the female Peter Kay”
  • Charlie Lewis, whose debut show Hungry! has gained major online attention
  • Stephen Catling, a Malcolm Hardee Award nominee and Keep It Fringe Award winner
  • Enrico Touché, known for blending clowning, trapeze and music
  • Devin Gray, as seen on Comedy Central

A venue built for discovery

With back-to-back performances across both weekends, the venue is designed to make exploring the Fringe easy and enjoyable. Visitors can plan ahead or simply turn up and choose from a wide range of shows on the day.

The fully wheelchair-accessible venue also aims to make the Fringe experience more inclusive and accessible to all.

Tickets are priced between £5 and £12, with concessions available for many shows.
