A pioneering youth-led initiative by Adaptive Gaming Youth & Community CIC is giving students at St Philip Howard Catholic Voluntary Academy the chance to plan and deliver their own community gaming event, blending teamwork, creativity, and digital skills for social good.

Following an engaging assembly with over 240 students from Years 8 and 9, twenty pupils will be chosen to form an Event Planning Team, responsible for organising a gaming day to raise funds for online safety workshops in local primary schools.

Kaine Williams, Director of Adaptive Gaming Youth & Community CIC, said:

This project shows what’s possible when young people are given the tools and trust to lead. They’re learning teamwork, communication, and responsibility — all while using gaming for good.

The initiative forms part of Adaptive Gaming’s “Gaming for Good” programme, which uses gaming and digital media to promote inclusion, wellbeing, and responsible online behaviour.

Assistant Headteacher Ms. Charlotte Neves from St Philip Howard CVA said:

We are very excited and grateful to Adaptive Gaming for offering this opportunity to our students. It is a fantastic chance for them to develop their leadership skills, work in partnership with others locally, and make a positive contribution to the wider community.

Adaptive Gaming Youth & Community CIC operates across North West England, supporting young people — including those who are disadvantaged, neurodiverse, or have additional needs — through creative, gaming-based education and wellbeing projects.
