Written by Kane Smith on 07/10/2025
Glossop Market Hall is about to be transformed — and the first details of its eagerly awaited reopening have been revealed. Set to open this November, following a major renovation led and funded by High Peak Borough Council, the historic venue is unveiling its first three traders, each bringing something truly special to the town.
This isn’t just a reopening — it’s a new chapter for Glossop’s community and economy, blending shopping, food and hospitality in one vibrant space.
A Taste of What’s to Come
Forest Distillery
A new era of craft spirits begins as Forest Distillery, one of the UK’s most celebrated independent distillers, brings a working distillery to Glossop Market Hall. Visitors will be able to enjoy award-winning gins and whiskies, take part in tastings, and see the spirit-making process in action.
Founded by husband-and-wife team Karl and Lindsay Bond, Forest Distillery has grown from a kitchen-based project in Macclesfield Forest into a national name, with products stocked in leading bars and retailers across the UK.
Lindsay Bond, Co-Founder of Forest Distillery, said:
We started Forest Distillery in our kitchen with a copper still, never imagining how far it would take us. Today, our spirits are enjoyed across the UK, but our heart is still firmly here in the Peaks. Opening at Glossop Market Hall is a chance to share our story and our products with new friends and neighbours. We’re really excited to join such a vibrant line-up of traders.

Hello Oriental
The renowned Manchester-based Asian food hall Hello Oriental is bringing its bold, authentic flavours to Glossop.
In the food hall, visitors can expect a menu inspired by the buzzing street food scenes of China, Vietnam, Korea and beyond. Over in the market hall, a convenience store will offer bubble teas, Asian snacks, and hard-to-find East Asian ingredients.
Ricky Yip, Co-Founder of Hello Oriental, said:
We’re so excited to be part of the next chapter at Glossop Market Hall. This is more than just great food, it’s a chance to share the flavours I grew up with, the dishes my family cooked, and the culture that shaped Hello Oriental. Glossop has such a strong sense of community, and we can’t wait to bring our East Asian street food to this amazing space, surrounded by other brilliant independents.

B&V Doggo General Store
Good news for dog lovers — the much-loved B&V Doggo General Store is opening a new home in Glossop.
Known for its stylish and high-quality pet products, B&V has become a go-to destination for North West dog owners. From artisan treats to beautifully designed accessories, the brand is all about combining practicality with personality.
Robert Benson, Founder of B&V, said:
We’ve built our business around a simple passion — giving dogs and their families the very best. Glossop Market Hall gives us the perfect opportunity to share what we do with a new community, in a space that values independent brands and the joy they bring. We’re really looking forward to becoming part of the town’s daily life.

Just the Beginning
The Hospitality Collective, which will operate the Market Hall, says more traders will be announced soon as the reopening draws closer.
Richard Walker, Managing Director of the Hospitality Collective, added:
We’re thrilled to announce our first three traders, each of whom represents the spirit of the Market Hall, independent, creative, and community-focused. This is just the start, and we’ll be making more announcements soon. Glossop can look forward to a place that truly reflects the energy of the town and the quality of the businesses within it.
About the Regeneration Project
The reopening follows a major rejuvenation of Glossop’s historic halls, carefully restoring and reimagining the space for the future. The project includes modernised facilities, flexible event areas, and a refreshed design that blends heritage architecture with contemporary style.
Backed by High Peak Borough Council, the redevelopment aims to make Glossop Market Hall a vibrant destination for residents and visitors alike — a place where community, culture, and commerce come together.
