Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service (DFRS) has officially welcomed 15 new On-call Firefighters following the completion of their intensive initial training.
The recruits were celebrated during a special “pass out” ceremony held on Sunday 27 July at the Joint Police and Fire Training Centre in Ripley. Joined by family and friends, the new firefighters were recognised for their achievements with certificates, awards, and live operational demonstrations.

Deputy Chief Fire Officer Clive Stanbrook, who addressed the audience, praised both the recruits and the DFRS Training School:
“Becoming an On-call Firefighter is a significant commitment — responding to emergencies while often juggling other jobs. It’s only possible with the support of their families and friends, and it’s an honour to celebrate this moment with them.”
He added:
“Each firefighter has received the highest level of training and is now ready to respond not only to fires but a wide range of emergencies. I wish them all the best as they begin their careers across Derbyshire.”
