Heading out trick-or-treating this week? Please make sure your costume is safe.
Before Halloween, choose costumes from reputable retailers and look for a UKCA or CE mark.
Opt for costumes labelled as flame-resistant, and avoid long trailing fabrics or loose accessories that could easily come into contact with a heat source.
If the worst happens and clothing catches fire, remember the lifesaving advice:
STOP – Don’t run
DROP – Get to the ground
ROLL – Back and forth until the flames are out
