Jon Pearce MP invites High Peak residents to fourth High Peak Careers, Skills & Jobs Fair

High Peak MP Jon Pearce is inviting residents from across High Peak to attend his fourth Careers, Skills & Jobs Fair, bringing together employers, training providers and support organisations to help people take the next step in their careers.

The free event will take place on Friday 25th September 2026 at Glossop Cricket Club from 10.00am until 1.00pm, with a dedicated neurodiverse hour from 10.00am to 11.00am to provide a quieter, more accessible environment for attendees.

Building on the success of the previous three events, this year’s fair will feature more than 50 employers, education providers and training organisations, offering opportunities for school leavers, job seekers, those looking to retrain, and anyone wanting to develop new skills.

Visitors will have the opportunity to speak directly with employers about current vacancies, apprenticeships and career pathways, while also accessing expert advice on CV writing, interview techniques and career development.

Among the organisations attending this year’s event are Amazon, Google, Tarmac, Nestlé, Bosch, the Royal Navy, the Royal Air Force and the British Army, alongside many local employers and education providers.

The September event will see Google deliver a free interactive workshop from 11am until 12:30pm exploring how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can support people throughout their job search. The session will demonstrate practical ways AI can help with writing CVs, preparing for interviews, completing applications and developing career skills.
